Prvi maj bi trebao, barem simbolično, biti dan kada radnička klasa slavi neke od najborbenijih trenutaka u dugoj povijesti radničke borbe protiv kapitalističkog sistema, kao što bi to trebao biti i dan kada radnici, barem simbolično, iskazuju svoje nezadovoljstvo prema tom istom kapitalističkom sustavu i neprestanom rezanju radničkih prava. Međutim, velika većina pripadnika radničke klase nije ni svjesna radikalnog konteksta u kojem je nastao ovaj praznik.
Na taj dan radnici su izborili jednu od najvećih pobjeda, pobjedu čije se posljedice i rezultati i dan danas osjete i koji su ozbiljno ugroženi pritiskom države u službi kapitala. Može se reći da je to jedno od najvećih postignuća čovječanstva. Naime, 1. svibnja 1886.godine, američki radnici su marširali ulicama tražeći donošenja zakona o osmosatnom radnom vremenu, što je bilo i prihvaćeno u nekim njemačkim tvrtkama koje su uvele osmosatno radno vrijeme po prvi put u povijesti čovječanstva. No, odgovor države je bilo ubijanje šest štrajkaša i premlaćivanje nekoliko desetaka u tvornici McCormick. Dva dana poslije anarhisti su organizirali skup potpore na kojem je nepoznati počinitelj bacio bombu na policajce. Iako nikada nije postojao ni najmanji dokaz protiv njih, sedam anarhista je optuženo, od čega su četvorica obješeni, jedan se ubio, a dvojica su pomilovana. Tako su oni, koji su bili dio radničke klase, platili životom svoju predanost tom humanom cilju, a kojeg mi danas uzimamo zdravo za gotovo.
Današnja situacija, kako u svijetu, tako i u Hrvatskoj, daleko je od borbene i revolucionarne. Sve više ljudi na granici siromaštva, blizu 400 000 nezaposlenih, od kojih su mladi velika većina, prisilne i potajne deložacije - sve je više ljudi u strahu za vlastitu egzistenciju, ali ne pomišlja da pokrene sebe ili druge u svojoj blizini na borbu protiv takvih nepravdi. Uzdamo se u državu i birokratske sindikate. Izdaja 800 000 potpisa radnika i radnica protiv izmjena Zakona o radu (ZOR), prijedlog Zakona o sindikalnoj reprezentativnosti, sudjelovanje u daljnjim fleksibilizacijama i kresanju radničkih prava, gušenje brojnih radničkih štrajkova i buntova (npr. Kamensko), grčevita obrana Vlade za vrijeme prosvjeda u ožujku 2011., konstantno pogodovanje poslodavcima na štetu radnika, itd. samo su neki od „uspjeha“ naših sindikalnih središnjica. Iz ovoga se jasno vidi gdje leži njihova lojalnost. To se jasno može vidjeti i u njihovim zahtjevima za ovogodišnji prvomajski prosvjed, koji su daleko od toga predstavljaju zahtjev za radikalnom promjenom. Unatoč tome što neke od sindikalnih zahtjeva pojedinačno podržavamo, smatramo da je licemjerno od sindikalnih vođa okrivljivati neoliberalnu politiku dosadašnjih vlada kao glavnog krivca, kad su oni do sada uglavnom podržavali upravo tu istu politiku, sve kako njihove foteljaške pozicije ne bi bile dovedene u pitanje.
Postavlja se pitanje - što onda uopće slaviti na današnji dan? Da živimo na staroj slavi? NE!
Dopustili smo da nam ubiju radnički ponos! Radnik je obespravljen i ponižen! A mi šutimo! Zato treba prestati vjerovati da će nam birokratski sindikati i država riješiti probleme! Ako si sami ne omogućimo bolju budućnost, sigurno je da nam je nitko neće pokloniti. No, to možemo samo na principima samoorganiziranja, solidarnosti i uzajamne pomoći.
Prvi maj je dan radnika cijeloga svijeta, dan kada je radnik pokazao da ima dostojanstvo i ponos, dan kad i mi moramo pokazati da smo sposobni boriti se za svoja prava!
Stoga vas mi, članovi kolektiva M31, pozivamo da se 1.svibnja pridružite antikapitalističkom bloku i da zajedno pokažemo kako se borba za radnike i radničku klasu ne sastoji u „površnim“ promjenama kapitalističkog sistema, nego u ukidanju tog sistema koji živi kao parazit na leđima radničke klase.
Glavna sindikalna povorka okuplja se na Trgu Francuske Republike od 10:30h, gdje ćemo se i mi skupiti u antikapitalističkom bloku i pridružiti povorci koja kreće prema Trgu bana Jelačića gdje je u 12:00h najavljeni glavni prosvjedni skup.
